Western Electric - 242CM - Connector, Audio.
Heavily Insulated, Singly-Mounted Jacks. Solder-type terminals are arranged to accommodate two No. 19 B & S gauge wires. Arranged for use with a No. 310 or similar type plug.
1/4-inch phone jack with integral mounting tab.
Mates with a tip-collar-ring type (stereo) plug.
There are 7 wirewrap connections on the rear.
There are three normally closed contacts when no plug is inserted.
All three open when the plug is inserted.
One contact is isolated, one is connected to the tip and one to the collar.
The jack mounts in a 0.450" clearance hole and is held in place by a screw through a nearby 0.156" hole.
The jack extends approximately 3-1/4" behind the mounting panel.
